From the silver screen to behind the lens, the moving cultural events offered in March focus on cutting-edge creativity and self-expression. The Miami International Film Festival returns. Audiences can feast on an extensive collection of critically acclaimed and award-winning international films and documentaries to the experimental. Miami Beach residents receive a $2.00 discount for advanced tickets to the Miami Film Festival. In addition, it does not get more “reel” when Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” is seen in high-definition for the first time on the big screen at the Miami Beach Cinematheque.
An exciting event for those with “an eye” is the Fifth Annual South Beach Photomarathon on March 22. Participants are assigned six topics to photograph on Miami Beach over a period of five hours. The topics are kept secret until the day of the event. The best photos from each topic are selected and winners will be awarded prizes.
Miami Beach offers a diverse array of inspirational and innovative programming for everyone all month long. With film viewings, dance, visual arts, lectures, tours and more, you can always find something to satisfy your appetite for the arts on Miami Beach.
